About our Do
it Yourself Biodiesel Kits
Are you a do it
yourself type of guy? Then this is the ideal kit
for you. Build it yourself & save up to $500.00. It
usually takes most people 1-2 days at the most. With our kits, we supply all the parts
including tanks, stands, oil pre-heaters, safety gear, titration
equipment, and almost everything else you need to build your own
processor, along with complete
instructions with full color pictures,
etc. And we even pre-assemble it as far as we can, putting
most of the fittings together, Teflon and all, then we ship it.
That leaves you with the easy part of installing the assemblies on the
tank. (click photo at right for pre-assembled section example).
Before you compare us
just on price alone, look at the difference in our processors.
Click on the photo below and ask yourself, which fuel would you want to
run in your vehicle? Hint: our processor makes the fuel on the
right, many others leave you with the fuel in the middle or the one on
the left. Then compare what comes with our processors & you'll see
ours are actually very fairly priced.

If you look around these days you'll find
several biodiesel processors for sale. But look closely before you
buy & you'll find that many are
dangerous and/or poorly designed, often without key
components in their design that are necessary to make High Quality Biodiesel.
Or they are incomplete, leaving you to buy many items on your own.
And the sad thing is YES, they probably will make
biodiesel. But there is a big difference between high quality
biodiesel and just biodiesel. But just looking at
their pictures wont tell you whether their equipment makes high quality
biodiesel or not. And of course they don't mention the things they
leave out. But we're here to help you understand what it honestly
takes to make high quality biodiesel. Our lists below will help
you understand what is important in the process.
And, remember, many builders operate out of their
garage, or do this part time, which could leave you without any customer
support. We are a dedicated Biodiesel Manufacturing company.
This is not a sideline or hobby for us. So we spend Hundreds of
hours every month just researching, testing, studying & learning all we
can about biodiesel. Do they?
The result of purchasing
many processors out there would be Frustration, Wasted time, & Low Quality
Biodiesel output. Many even suggest you can run biodiesel without
washing or drying your fuel. But it's a fact that UN-washed &
dried Biodiesel WILL NOT even come close to passing ASTM standards, meaning it is of low
quality & generally full of free glycerin which can cause coking &
fouling of your engine. Or, they say things like they can dry
the fuel by simply running it through a 'Water Block Filter', which is
totally untrue as the filters would clog up with water constantly.
Plus filters are generally rated nominally meaning they don't stop
everything from getting through. And do you really want water in
your fuel?

ASTM Test comparisons of
heated & washed vs Non heated & non Washed fuel
The test pages below were presented at a biodiesel
conference we attended last year. The speaker runs a
commercial biodiesel production plant & does all their in
house testing using a Gas Chromatograph, (the only approved
ASTM testing method). He has tested numerous samples
of homebrew biodiesel and shows here what can go wrong.

Here's a test done on fuel produced commercially from used
cooking oil. This is very high quality fuel. |
This test shows homemade biodiesel that was made with heat,
but was left unwashed as they
were told was it was ok to do that. |
This test shows another homemade batch
made with NO heat and NO washing.
Notice how much glycerin is left behind. |
And
finally, this test shows how water washing removes
most of the glycerin left over.
But it also removes residual methanol & catalyst which are
very hard on your fuel system. |

Our processors & small biodiesel
plants are the result of over a year
of design & re-design to build a processor that will make high
quality Biodiesel easily.
Our design is complete, and
utilizes all the important principles REQUIRED to make high quality
Biodiesel that is safe to use in your vehicle.
We build our processors using higher
quality components such as hoses that are MUCH stronger & thicker than
the competition, No PVC on the pressurized processor pumping lines
themselves (they may get brittle & weaken from the biodiesel & methoxide
mixture), and we use black iron fittings, a stronger pump, stainless
steel misters & MUCH more. Yes, it costs a little more to build
them this way, but the result is high quality fuel, and no problems down
the line for you. We feel it's worth it.
If your planning on building your own
processor, consider this. It takes the average person between
100-150 hours to design their 1st processor right, including searching the internet for
weeks for information, chasing down all the parts, then re-designing it
several times when they realize the errors in their design, etc.
It is VERY time consuming, along with frustrating, and you risk
designing it improperly, resulting in low quality fuel & eventual
damage to your engine. And NO,
you can't tell quality fuel just by looking. There can be damaging
un-reacted Mono or Diglycerides in your fuel that you can't see.
And there are no simple, at home tests you can do to check the quality
of your fuel. And we've heard many stories about homebuilt
biodiesel processors which ended up damaging someone's engine. BUT, if you use all the proven design principles of
making biodiesel, you can make high quality fuel at home. Our
processors do that for you.

Here's some of the problems we
encountered with other processors we saw-
-
No method to
Filter the oil before processing (besides the obvious, filtering
removes watery breading chunks)
-
No
method to dewater the oil before processing (water in the oil
makes soap, which is bad)
-
No way to heat the
oil (which can cause an incomplete reaction)
-
Lack
of Insulation on the processor to retain the heat (pretty much
no one else does this)
-
Lack
of enough agitation time due to 1 hour timers or a 1 time fits
all instruction guide
-
Pump which was to
weak to keep the chemicals thoroughly mixed, resulting in poorly
reacted fuel
-
Pumps
mounted improperly resulting in very difficult priming (pumps
mounted vertically are very difficult to prime)
-
Lack
of ACCURATE scales which results in in-accurate titration
testing causes poor reaction rates
-
Venting
the methanol vapors into the workspace (very bad)
-
Poor
Lye & Methanol mixing methods often leaving clumps behind,
or dangerous mixing methods
-
No
bubble washing system
-
No
mist washing system or the mist washing uses plastic parts which
can break & overflow the tank
-
No
method to dry the biodiesel after washing (filters won't
remove all the water)
-
Use
of pvc ball valves, (a very bad idea as they break easily, seize up
and just don't hold up well to the methoxide/biodiesel mixture)
-
Poor operating
instructions (we give you a 25 page bound book)
-
No educational
materials. Lets face it. You're new to biodiesel.
And if you buy a processor without understanding what biodiesel is,
and what's important to make it, you will likely end up making some
poor quality fuel. IT DOES TAKE SOME LEARNING. But with
the proper education, it's not that hard to learn. We educate
you with this website, and our customer only website (www.myezbiodiesel.com)
our User guide & our 95 page book, 'Biodiesel, What it is and how to
make it', which by the way, a publishing company has found and wants
to publish our book because it's so well written and explains things
in a simple manner. AND, we will always be glad to help you
via email, or phone.

Note: the 1st photo is purposely Low resolution & small.
It's also a combination of 8 separate photos. In the book you'll
get photos like the one on the right, which is much clearer & larger
(click to enlarge). You'll also get the 1st photo printed clearly,
on a Color Laser, and labeled. Then you'll get the rest of the
photos 1 at a
time as we lead you through installing them on the processor & methoxide
mixer.
Most parts now come FULLY ASSEMBLED as shown
above, cutting build time dramatically
and making it much less confusing. In the photo above there are
over 100 separate pieces that we have assembled for you.
