is a division of
Summit Enterprises LLC, a company founded by Guy Purcella, author of the
nationally published book, 'Do it Yourself Guide to Biodiesel'. We
are located
in
Grand Junction Colorado (USA) on the
western slope of Colorado off I-70.
As the owner, I got into biodiesel in
2005 when I first learned that you could make biodiesel at home.
The idea appealed to me not only because of the superior fuel quality of
biodiesel, but also because it I was really sick of knowing that we were
sending so many of our dollars overseas to already wealthy foreign oil
companies. And as a military veteran I was tired of all the wars
we were fighting to 'protect our oil interests'. Of course the
fact that I could make it for under $1.00 a gallon appealed to me also. I started out building my own processor and quickly learned that there was much more to it than simple plumbing. As I researched information on what it took to make high quality biodiesel I was frustrated at the HUGE amount of misleading, inaccurate and outdated or hypothetical information out there. So after weeks of reading information on the net, books etc, I had a basic idea of what we needed to change. But I constantly had a hard time finding the information a second time if needed. This prompted me to write a book which thoroughly explained everything about biodiesel which we offered for sale on ebay and our own EZBiodiesel website. This led to many requests to build processors for others, and soon we had more orders than I could fill alone, so I hired someone to build them for me, which is how we became a full time Biodiesel equipment manufacturing company. So we have been manufacturing the processors and kits since early 2006. We currently use homemade biodiesel in a 2003 GMC trucks with the Duramax Diesel, and a 2006 Massey Ferguson Tractor. We run b100 in the warmer months & in the winter we run B35 - B60. We have previously run it in 2002 and 2006 Duramax engines, all with no problems. We use one of our Model EZ160 Biodiesel processors to make biodiesel for .75 cents a gallon as of 7/22/07. This is our business and we do this full time, and not as a sideline hobby, so we are serious about building the best, affordable biodiesel processors on the market. We have sold many processors to date and have never had one complaint about the quality of our processors or the fuel they make.
