Alternative
Energy - It's one of the hottest subjects of study in schools
everywhere. And now with the new administration under President
Obama being highly supportive of alternative energy, it's getting even
more popular. Grade schools through universities are adding
courses to their curriculum to help educate their students about the
exciting and rapidly growing field of alternative energy. There is
so much happening these days in the world of alternative energy from
solar to renewable fuel sources that it is imperative that students have
courses available to them for several reasons. Foremost is the
understanding of why we need to focus on and develop these alternative
sources of energy to keep our country strong, but they also need courses
to give them a primer of how these energy sources work.
Biodiesel
is one of the most amazing forms of alternative energy available.
It is completely renewable with amazing new feedstocks being developed
such as Algae and Jatropha that don't compete with food sources such as
corn, wheat etc. It is already being produced commercially at
hundreds of biodiesel plants and is an EPA approved alternative energy
under the epact act.
 In addition it reduces overall emissions by
80% or more, is non toxic, non flammable, biodegradable, carbon neutral
and is one of the safest fuels available. There are many more
benefits that we haven't even listed.
Currently biodiesel stands out as one of the most promising
alternative energy fuels available. Ethanol, although it holds
promising potential, is currently not considered carbon neutral as it
takes more energy to make it than we get back out of it, and is
utilizing food crops which creates it's own problems. Other
alternatives such as CNG and the likes are still utilizing a non
renewable, finite resource and therefore are not the answer to our long
term energy needs. We do need to continue to develop all forms of
alternative energy such as electric vehicles, hydrogen, etc, if we are
to reduce our nations dependence on foreign oil. But biodiesel is
already a proven, government approved fuel with great advantages over
other forms of alternative energy.
While biodiesel won't solve the worlds energy problems alone, it has
the potential to make a significant impact on our energy needs.
While this country doesn't have as many diesel engines as some
countries, the use of an affordable fuel such as biodiesel can help
change that. Modern diesel engines are a much more efficient
engine with more power, better fuel economy and a much longer lifespan
than gasoline engines.
 With that, we have created several programs to help schools to
educate their students about Biodiesel, and to incorporate Biodiesel
into the everyday studies of general chemistry, agriculture, automotive
and more. While we are a for profit business, we are also here to
help educate the public about the great benefits and potential of
biodiesel, and what better way to start than with our younger
generation. We are currently doing that in several ways. One
of those ways is our Free downloadable
instructions on how to make a 1 liter batch of biodiesel at
home for a science project.
And with all school systems we include several extras
not available to the general public and not available
from other manufacturers. Here is a list of some
of those extra items.

Biodiesel Classroom Discovery Kit -
This allows students to make
small 1 liter batches of biodiesel in the classroom. This gives
them the opportunity to see the process in action, and to discuss what
happened on a scientific basis. They can also introduce variables
such as heat, time, oil quality, chemical ratios etc, to further
understand the process.

Computer CD - School systems also come
with a computer CD with our
Titration video, mini batch video, operating
video, and a
powerpoint presentation geared just for
schools.

Biodiesel Book - Another valuable resource is our book about
biodiesel titled 'Do it Yourself Guide to Biodiesel' which is a
nationally published book in bookstores everywhere. Shown above
left.

Biodiesel T-Shirt - We will include a
T-shirt such as the one shown on the right for the
instructor to wear or give away. We offer group discounts on
these shirts if you would like one for the entire
classroom.
And perhaps
the best resource is our Biodiesel Processors
which allow students to
make full size batches of ASTM grade biodiesel in amounts from 20
gallons on up. With these processors they will make a very high
grade of biodiesel in larger amounts allowing them to see the process on
a larger scale than the mini batch sizes.
All school processors also come with a full titration
kit, and all other standard items our processors come
with. We also provide several options to allow
your to customize the system to your needs.
Previously, to make ASTM grade fuel one had to wash the biodiesel
with water, which while effective, also creates another waste stream and
uses a valuable resource which we need to protect. Our systems now
offer the option of the latest cleaning technology called the Dry Wash
method. Dry Wash systems allow you to make biodiesel without the
need for water with several additional advantages such as eliminating
over half of the hands on and processing time, eliminating the
possibility of emulsions, and simplifying the whole process.
 We
have previously sold systems to many schools such as
Portland Community College, Colorado Mountain College,
Franklin County career & technology, University of
Kansas, West Aurora High School, and we will soon have
one installed at the US Air Force Academy. We offer
